Life Sciences (Ph.D)

Any one or a combination of several branches of science, such as Biology, Medicine, Anthropology, Zoology or Ecology, that deal with living organisms and their organization, life processes, and relationships to each other and their environment, fall into Life Sciences.

Life Science is the subject which studies the fundamental features of living systems. It helps to study and understand how bio-molecules in living systems acquire a specific biological role which is indirectly derived from their chemical composition.

For doing a PhD, the foremost aspect is to identify the problem or issue that the student wishes to address during the research in various principles and thesis related to Biotechnology and Life Sciences. PhD in Life science is hence a highly specialized degree which requires innovative, detailed and in depth study and research of the selected thesis in the subject.

One has to be a post graduate and should have a master level degree in order to be eligible for this course. The master’s level degree should be from a well-recognized university or institute and should be in the same trade or relevant trade.

Procedure For Doing PhD From DAVV

  • For enrolment into PhD Programme at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) the student has to appear for Doctoral Entrance Test (DET). After clearing this exam they have to appear for RDC (Research Degree Committee). During this interview the eligible Subject Expert for Guidance and Supervision is allotted to the candidate by the University.
  • Since the number of seats for PhD are limited candidates qualified with NET, GATE or M.Phil are given preference.

  • The syllabus for DET is revised annually.
